Axial fans

Fan wherein the air enters and exits from the impeller along surfaces that are essentially cylindrical and coaxial with the fan. Ref. UNI EN ISO 13349:2009.
Used high efficiency impellers with aerofoil profile blades.

Up to fan size 500, fixed pitch angle impellers are used, beyond this size the impellers have a pitch angle adjustment facility when stopped that makes it possible to adjust the blade pitch in accordance with a fixing system from 15° to 50°.

The impeller hub is made of aluminium.
The blades are made of fibreglass-reinforced polypropylene, fibreglass reinforced polyamide, or aluminium.

  • Fibreglass reinforced polypropylene: operating temperature from – 40°C to +120°C;
  • Fibreglass reinforced polyamide: operating temperature from -40°C to +110°C. Since this is an antistatic material it can be utilised also for Atex certified fans (see Atex Axial Fans chapter);
  • Aluminium: operating temperature from -60°C to +245°C, tested at high temperatures (at 250°C for a maximum of 2 hours, and at 300°C for a maximum of 1 hour). The material normally used for Atex certified fans is aluminium.

All impellers, unless specifically requested on the customer order, are statically and dynamically balanced in compliance with ISO 1940/1, with reference to balancing level 6.3 at 950rpm.

All the axial fans can have the air flow of A or B kind according to the position of the motor compared with the rotor.

  • When the motor, or the driven pulley in case of ET transmission fans, is between the suction and the rotor, the air flow is called A
  • When the motor, or the driven pulley, is between the rotor and the delivery, the flow is B.

The standard axial fans are supplied with flow A.
